Foliage, Shrubs, and Trees
My garden plants have to contend with a great deal of shade from mature maple and oak trees. A few small areas get a half day of sun, but most receive far less than that, and some get none at all. Gardening under such circumstances is a challenge, but it can be very rewarding. Plants with colorful foliage, such as the Japanese maple below, brighten up the scene from early May to late November.
